GENOTOXIC EVENTS AND DISEASES
Based on literature and own data the role of genotoxic events in nosogenesis of hereditary, congenital and somatic diseases is considered.
Special emphasis is paid to the analysis of significance of premutagenic DNA lesions and as well induced gene mutations in somatic and
germ cells as in mitochondrial DNA. Recent understanding of the implication of different genotoxic endpoints on the genetic load of human
population has been analyzed. Prevention of the genotoxic exposures was concluded to be a critical problem of human health care.
