THE GROWTH FACTORS AND ADHESION MOLECULES OF VESSEL ENDOTHELIUMAS TARGETS FOR CREATION OF PEPTIDE DRUGS AGAINST ATHEROSCLEROSIS
The expression of adhesion molecules (ICAM-1, E-selectin) and growth factors (PDGF, bFGF, TGF-β) was investigated in cultures
of human endotheliual cells in health and atherosclerosis. Expression of ICAM-1, E-selectin, bFGF, TGF-β was shown to decline in
atherosclerotic endothelium, but the synthesis of PDGF didn’t change. The investigation of biological effects of peptide Lys-Glu-Trp has
shown the possibility of its using as a potential drug for molecular target therapy of atherosclerosis.
