Introduction. In recent years among non-drug methods of treatment and rehabilitation of patients of elderly and senile age is a promising application of low-intensity millimeter waves as an important reserve of increasing the effectiveness of the complex therapy. The aim of the study. To assess the effect of millimeter waves on the expression of opioid hormones, cortisol and receptors to him in patients of older age groups. Мethods. The study included 221 patients (133 men, 88 women), the average age was 65,7±2,1 years (60 to 89 years). There were evaluated the level of exchange of endogenous opioids and state of the synthesis of cortisol and the expression of receptors. The exposure to the millimeter radiation was performed with the help of EHF-IR-therapy «Triomed», at wavelengths of 4.9 and 5.6 mm. Results. The use of low-intensity millimeter waves in complex treatment in patients of older age groups significantly was shown to stimulate the increased production of endogenous opioids, promote production of cortisol and density of receptors to him in arterial hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, ulcers stomach and duodenal ulcer. Conclusion. The data shows that a signaling molecules performing the neuroimmunoendocrinological intercellular interaction and playing a key role in the pathogenesis of various age-related diseases, are targets of action of millimeter radiation, thus, from this perspective, may be considered as promising and it is required a detailed study and development of cellular and molecular approaches to prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of patients of senior age groups with the use of low-intensity electromagnetic radiation of millimeter range.
