Начиная с середины прошлого столетия, открытия в области молекулярной биологии и физиологии так или иначе привели к перевороту во взглядах на функцию и роль адипоцитов в организме человека. К настоящему моменту известно и изучено более 4 адипокинов. Известно, что их функции разнообразны и включают регуляцию пищевого поведения, углеводного обмена, атеросклероза, тромбообразования и пр. Рецепторы к этим молекулам локализованы как в периферических органах, так и органах центральной нервной системы (ЦНС), а именно – в ядрах гипоталамуса. На уровне ЦНС происходит взаимодействие адипокинов и гормонов, регулирующих пищевое поведение. До недавнего времени к ним относили только серотонин и нейропептид Y. Подобный эффект молекул грелина и несфатина-1 обнаружили менее 5 лет назад. Приведенный обзор включает самые новые данные о строении и функции этих молекул, а также последние данные международных исследований об их взаимном влиянии.
